Marek Hunhap, born in 1981, is a french artist, composer.
He starts out at the music Conservatory in Limoges as a classical pianist, before opting at the end of his studies for musical composition.
After teaching piano for 6 years, he join in 2002 the transdisciplinary collective l'Oreille Electronique directed by Pierre Redon and Pierre Lasternas where he learns the ropes in live performance. He collaborates with the E.S.A.C. in Brussels and circus companies like Lapsus, O Ultimo Momento and Micro Focus among others.
In 2012 Marek creates the Chambre 5 company which allows him to develop his own performances, installations and videos.
His first audiovisual experience was with students from the National Studio of Contemporary Arts in le Fresnoy, he produced the music for their end-of-year short films. In 2018, his encounter with Jean-Robert Viallet a documentary filmmaker, marks a turning point in his career. He compose for him the music of L’homme à mangé la Terre and Des Hommes directed with Alice Odiot, released in cinemas in 2020. He still keeps working on films.
In 2022 The Laténium Museum in Switzerland asked him a music for the exhibition « Entre deux eaux » and ADNCH5, a poetic performance for seven bulbs on the music of the eponymous album as part of the night of the museums. That same year, the Atelier des Lumières selected one of his pieces for the exhibition « Destination Cosmos » in Paris. The exhibition was repeated in Bordeaux, at the Bassin des Lumières in 2023 and in 2024 at the Fabrique des Lumières in Amsterdam.
